Ever Wonder The Difference Between Buying and Leasing?

When it comes to buying or leasing a car the options can be confusing. To help you make an informed decision we have provided the information below. We hope you find it informative and useful.

When you buy the new or used car you pay for the entire cost of the vehicle. When you lease the new or used car, you pay for only a portion of the vehicle's cost, which is the part you use during the time you are driving it.
BUYING                                                                                   LEASING

WHO OWNS IT
The only way you fully own your vehicle is if you pay cash for it. If you're financing it, you'll have to meet the obligations the lender requires, like a certain down payment amount and timely monthly payments. If you don't, they have the right to repossess it.
WHO OWNS IT
You do not own the car when you lease. You're paying for the use of the vehicle, but the finance institution that you leased it through actually owns it. This is usually why you pay less per month in a lease than if you were to buy the car.
UP-FRONT COSTS
If you're financing it, the bank will probably request a down payment. You can also trade-in another vehicle and use any equity towards your down payment. The amount of the down payment is usually based on the lender's requirements and your credit score.
UP-FRONT COSTS
Leases often do not require any type of a down payment. All you usually have to pay is the first month's payment, a security deposit, the acquisition fee and other fees and taxes. But, as with a purchase, if you want to lower your monthly payments you can always pay more upfront.
FUTURE VALUE
Your vehicle will be worth whatever you can sell it for in the future and that depends on how well you maintain it. (Be smart and protect your investment with regular scheduled maintenance by a factory-authorized facility!)
FUTURE VALUE
In most leases you don't end up owning it so you don't end up selling it. That's the financial institution's job. Although you may have mileage limits and wear and tear guidelines that, if you exceed them, could cost you extra money when you turn your vehicle back in.
END OF PAYMENTS
Once you've paid off what you owe on your contract, that's it. Your vehicle is 100% yours. The lending institution will send you a Lien Release as proof that the vehicle is completely paid off and all yours.
END OF PAYMENTS
Most people return the vehicle at the end of the lease term. But some like to purchase it during their lease or at the end. Others like to trade it in before their lease is over. Just ask us about these different options before signing any paperwork and we'll make sure you have your lease set up the way you want it.

                       BEST CARS TO LEASE
The best cars to lease are those with the best book value after the term of the lease. Since they depreciate less, you pay less. Review the lease ratings to see which cars retain their value.

2014 Dodge Journey Technology Features Make Driving Fun!

Driving on snowy or icy roads requires special attention to safety. Although it’s impossible to have ideal road conditions 365 days a year, there are certain precautions you can take to make winter driving safer. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you get ready for the hazards of winter.

Before the Trip

• Winterize your car with fresh antifreeze, a good battery, a properly operating exhaust system and oil that will withstand the rigors of cold weather.

• If possible, avoid driving until the roads are safe and passable. You don’t want to slide off the road, and we don’t want to plow around disabled vehicles.

• Do a thorough pretrip inspection of your vehicle, paying special attention to your tires, brakes, windshield wipers and windshield wiper fluid.

Equip Your Vehicle With:

• A flashlight with extra batteries

• A first-aid kit

• Necessary medications

• Blankets and/or sleeping bags

• Extra mittens or gloves, socks, a warm cap and rain gear

• A small sack of sand to use for traction under your wheels

• A small shovel

• Booster cables

• Small tools - pliers, wrench, screwdriver

• A brightly colored cloth to use as a flag

• Nonperishable foods

• Bottled water During the Trip

• Obey speed limits; don’t speed.

• Use common sense, and adjust your speed and following distance to suit driving conditions .

• Give snowplows plenty of room,

and don’t pass them.

• Always wear your seat belt.

• Remember that driving is most dangerous when temperatures are near 32 degrees.

• Watch for other vehicles having problems with road conditions.

• Keep mirrors, windows and lights clean; keep your lights on.

• Don’t pass other vehicles on or near bridges.

• Keep your fuel tank at least half full.

• If you don’t feel comfortable driving, pull off of the highway and park at the first safe place.

If You’re Trapped in Your Car

• Stay in the vehicle. Don’t leave to search for help. It’s easy to become disoriented and lost in blowing and drifting snow.

• Display a trouble sign. Hang a brightly colored cloth on the antenna.

• Run the engine for about 10 minutes each hour. Run the heater and turn on the dome light only when the vehicle is running.

• Keep the exhaust pipe clear of snow, and open a window slightly for ventilation.

• Clap hands and move your arms and legs occasionally. Don’t stay in one position for too long.

• If more than one person is in the car, take turns sleeping.

• Huddle together for warmth.

• Use newspapers, maps and even car mats for added insulation

What the Chrysler 200 will probably look like in convertible form

 By Brandon Turkus

Since 1996, Chrysler has offered a convertible version of its Sebring and 200. As this seems very unlikely to change, it's safe to assume that a new 200 Convertible is in the works following the unveiling of the radically redesigned sedan. What it will look like, though, remains an open question.

Traditionally, the only major styling differences between the Sebring/200 Convertible and the sedan were found above the beltline. It's likely a 2016 200 Convertible would follow a similar philosophy, especially considering the dashing good looks of the redesigned sedan.

Artist Theophilus Chin has a similar idea, as shown in a pair of renderings he's released. Using a few of the stock photos from the 200 Sedan's reveal, Chin has given us our first glimpse of what a 200 Convertible could looks like. It's sharp, retaining the good looks of the sedan. The windshield looks like it's been swept back further, and obviously, there are a pair of doors missing. Other than that, it's the same attractive car that debuted at Detroit.
